ABOUT US

At Darul Wahi, we believe in the immense potential for spiritual growth and development within every individual, regardless of age. Our comprehensive programs cater to children, youth, and adults, providing an Islamic education tailored to meet the unique needs of each age group. As the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." (Ibn Majah)

Our programs are designed to foster spiritual well-being, drawing on insights from various disciplines such as social work, psychology, and education. We understand that growth is a lifelong journey, and our goal is to empower individuals to thrive in their spiritual, personal, and academic lives throughout different life stages.

Our Goals:

  1. Ensure Quran memorization with a deep understanding of its meaning.

  2. Achieve correct Tajweed (proper pronunciation of Arabic words and letters).

  3. Gain a comprehensive understanding of Quranic Arabic.

  4. Provide ijazah from qualified scholars.

  5. Encourage the application of the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S) through Da'wah in the community and beyond.

  6. Foster the development of responsible citizens and future leaders.

  7. Create well-balanced students who excel both academically and spiritually.

Currently, we serve students (both boys and girls) from the Detroit area and hope to attract more West African immigrant youth from across the nation. We have 55 full-time students enrolled, ranging from kindergarten to high school, and 85 part-time students, including weekend students. Our adult and youth programs engage entire families, ensuring dedication to growth together. Applying the teachings of our Prophet (saw) and the blessed Qur'an motivates our students to excel in every aspect of their lives.

Future Plans:

As we continue to grow, we aim to establish a boarding school in the coming years to accommodate students from other states, further expanding our reach and impact.

Our Story:

Darul Wahi began as a weekend school, providing Islamic education on Saturdays and Sundays. However, we soon realized that our students needed more time and resources to fully benefit from our programs. As a result, we transitioned to a full-time school, providing our students with highly educated, morally upright teachers who serve as exemplary role models.

Our Faculty:

Our faculty and teachers are well-trained and dedicated to the development of our students.
